Inspired by Poetry (Intermediate/Advanced) £340

£340.00

COST: £340 FORMAT: 7 Monthly online sessions ‍ ‍Maximum number of participants: 5

Have you ever read a poem and instantly seen an image form in your mind?

This course is all about translating words into visual storytelling. Each month, we will explore a different poem - ranging from modern voices to classic works-drawing inspiration from themes such as travel, early mornings, and the energy of the inner city.

Using multiple exposure techniques, you will create your own personal response to each piece of writing, building a body of work that is both expressive and deeply individual.

About the Course

Multiple exposure is one of the most powerful ways to express emotion and narrative within photography. It allows you to move beyond simply capturing what you see, and instead create images that reflect what you feel. If you are a beginner I would suggest taking the Wilde Academy’s ‘exploration of multiple exposure’ courses first or having some 1 to 1 sessions.

At the beginning of each month, we will come together to explore and discuss the chosen poem—looking at its themes, mood, and possible interpretations. From there, you will develop your own visual response using multiple exposure techniques.

How It Works

Each month will follow a gentle but inspiring structure:

  • Session 1 – Poem & Inspiration
We will explore the poem together, discussing meaning, mood, and visual possibilities.

  • Between Sessions – Your Creative Response
You will photograph and create your own multiple exposure images inspired by the poem.

  • Session 2 – Sharing & Feedback - introduction to poem 2
A supportive and encouraging space to share your work, receive feedback, and explore new ideas. Then exploration of the new poem.

This format allows you time to reflect, experiment, and create without pressure.

The sessions will be recorded and you will have access to the recording and the Gemini notes for the duration of the course. Support will always be on hand and a WhatsApp group will be put together for extra conversations amongst the group.
