The day focuses on multiple exposure photography, layering architecture, movement, texture, and people to create expressive, contemporary images in one of the UK’s most visually dynamic cities.

Birmingham’s mix of striking modern landmarks and historic architecture makes it ideal for creative multiple exposure. Repeating shapes, flowing crowds, and strong graphic elements provide endless opportunities to build layered, expressive images throughout the day.

  • The Selfridges Building – circles, repetition, and abstraction

  • Moor Street Station – historic architecture and atmospheric layering

Your Tutor

Janina Wilde is an award-winning educator with 25 years of experience in teaching and creative photography. Known for her innovative approach to multiple exposure, intentional camera movement (ICM), and expressive visual storytelling, she has helped hundreds of photographers develop confidence and creativity in their work.

A focused, inspiring day of creative photography in the heart of Birmingham — perfect for exploring new techniques and seeing the city in a completely different way.

We will also have a follow up date tbc online where we can share our processed images and we can all give feedback on the images.

Group: £550

I am now offering this as a group course. It will be available to a group of up to 6 people at a group rate of £550. So grab all of your friends and make a day of it! You just need to choose between the canals or the Selfridges Building workshop. This will be 5 hours and will cover all of the basics of in camera multiple exposure. Simply get in touch for the organisation of a date and then pay the deposit.

1.You are responsible for the knowledge that your camera does have an in camera multiple exposure function. There will be no refund if you come to the workshop with a camera that does not have this function.

2. The full amount  of the workshop price is due on booking where Wilde Photography will send out a confirmation e-mail. A joining e-mail with specific instructions as to where to meet will come out 2 weeks before the workshop.

3. Any cancellation by you made in the month prior to the trip will mean that Wilde Photography retains the total cost of the workshop unless your place is sold on. If Wilde Photography is able to resell your place,  only the administration costs will be retained and the balance will be refunded.

4.Please make sure you check the travel arrangements, no refunds or partial refunds will be made for lateness or no show due to travel services.

5. Wilde Photography reserves the right to alter or cancel any workshop. Should an alteration or cancellation become necessary for reasons other than force majeure (see clause 6 below), you will be notified and you will then have the choice of accepting the change, taking an alternative workshop (and where this is of a lower price we will refund the difference), or withdrawing from the contract and accepting a refund of all monies paid.

6. Wilde Photography can accept no responsibility for cancellation of workshops due to Force Majeure. Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control including fire, flood or adverse weather conditions. Outdoor photographers work in all weathers and it will be unusual for weather to necessitate a cancellation. However, if a workshop has to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, there will be  an offer of a free place on an alternative workshop.

7. In the unlikely event of the specified tutor being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond control,  the workshop will be cancelled and the provisions of clause 5 will come into effect.

8. Wilde Photography does not accept responsibility or liability for death, bodily injury or illness caused to you or any other person included on the booking form, unless arising from our negligence.

9. By paying the full amount, you are agreeing to accept all the above conditions.
