Have you ever wanted to learn about photographers? Have you a desire to make multiple exposure images using image stimuli? Then this is definitely for you…
This course is run over a period of six months and is designed to enable progression and already existing multiple exposure skills. If you are a beginner I would suggest taking my or ‘exploration of multiple exposure’ courses first.
Each month we will take a different photographer and we will look at their their style, what features inspired me and what features may inspire you. This will start to give you ideas as to what you might want to create. During that month you will produce images based on that photographers work; either one or several of their images could be used as a stimuli, creativity is the key here. The course is not designed for you to make copies of their work but merely use aspects of their images to create your own. There will also be the exciting opportunity to meet one of the photographers that we study (online). Support will always be on hand and a whatsapp group will be put together for extra conversations amongst the group.
The special part of this course is that all the photographers featured have have been approached about using their work as inspiration and have been very happy to give their support for this course. I asked photographers that represent a great range of styles and techniques to offer everyone something that is in their comfort zone and , probably more importantly, something that is outside! Do click on their names to find out more about them…
Pep Ventosa is my personal hero and inspired my first multiple exposure creations, his work is very multi-layered and beautiful.
Brooke Shaden creates fabulous fantasy self portraits - she works in multiple exposure and her work is intriguing with plenty of story.
Clare Pistache is a fabulous photographer who creates a lot of her work using apps as well as in photoshop, she has a very abstract style and interesting combination of layers.
Stephanie Johnson works with both ICM and Multiple Exposure but this course concentrates on her stunning ICM work to give a flow to our Multiple Exposures.
Scarlet Page is an award winning band photographer who captures such amazing atmosphere in her images, inspiration here will add some people as subjects into our repertoire.
Helen Trust is a fabulous minimalist photographer with a special USP of all of her gorgeous ‘little squares’ her pastel colours and long exposure are sure to inspire everyone.
The course will have a 1 hour 15 minute introduction session, introducing both the group and the first photographer. Each subsequent week will last for 2 hours where work made from the previous artist will be shared amongst the group (it’s not scary, it’s very friendly!) and then a new photographer will be introduced.
