Vision & Voice is a seven-month creative journey from a simple idea to a finished body of photographic work. Over seven sessions, you'll explore, experiment and develop your own visual language, gradually refining your ideas into six images that express your unique photographic voice. Along the way, you'll receive supportive feedback and creative guidance as you develop your project from its first spark into six finished photographs, which will be published alongside the work of your fellow photographers in a beautiful collective Vision & Voice book - a lasting record of the individual visions and collective creativity of the group.

Session 1 — The Spark

Finding your vision

Begin with an idea and explore what lies behind it. Through discussion, visual inspiration and creative exercises, you’ll start to uncover what you want to say and how it might translate into photography.

Session 2 — Finding the Voice

Turning ideas into images

Begin experimenting with ways to visually express your idea. Explore technique, emotion, colour, movement, composition and symbolism to discover the visual language that feels right for your project.

Session 3 — The Language

Developing your visual vocabulary

Start creating a cohesive body of work. We’ll explore what connects your images and identify the visual elements, techniques and motifs that are beginning to define your personal voice.

Session 4 — The Edit

Creating a body of work

Learn to look beyond individual photographs and consider your project as a whole. Through supportive critique and editing, you’ll begin refining your work and identifying the images that truly belong.

Session 5 — The Story

Making your images speak together

Discover how sequencing can create emotion, rhythm and meaning. We’ll explore how your images work together and begin shaping the six photographs that will ultimately become your contribution to the group book.

Session 6 — The Final Six

Refining your vision

Bring your project together. Through detailed feedback and refinement, we’ll make those final decisions about your six images and prepare them for inclusion in the finished book.

Session 7 — The Book

Bringing our visions together

See how individual photographic journeys can become one collective body of work. We’ll consider sequencing and presentation across the group before bringing everyone’s six final images together into the finished Vision & Voice book.
